The Story

Up And Social designed a website for Goodwin Marine Services, GoodwinMarineServices.com.  The goal for this website was to create a web presence for the company that is cohesive with their brand and mission. Goodwin Marine Services is multi-faceted in the services they provide and their website needed to reflect that. The Challenge

We started from scratch. Goodwin Marine Services did not have an original web presence. Therefore, it was our job to create materials and pull together information from many different sources. We created site maps, spent time organizing content, and presented multiple mockups. Goodwin Marine Services provides several charter vessels of different sizes as marine research platforms for many different companies including The US Navy, US Geological Survey, Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation among others.

Thus, it was imperative to create an online presence that parallels the esteem of the company’s clientele.  In addition, we were challenged to create a website that offers simplicity and ease of navigation for busy clients and prospects to find what they’re looking for.

There’s a tight balance between maintaining the visual appeal and working with multiple pieces of information. Between gathering information and presenting it in a cohesive manner and coming up with the perfect look and feel, we had our work cut out for us.

Boatyard Web Design Solution

We chose to utilize a combination of bold colors consistent with marine industry standards. This contrasted with large imagery and pictures of company boats created a great homely feel.

We worked with company leaders to select vital information necessary for the website. We took our time and went through multiple iterations of the site which resulted in a strong web presence that Goodwin Marine Services can be proud to show their clients and prospects. The new site features easy navigation menus, technical information about each vessel offered, photos, and a request for service form. And finally, the entire site is mobile responsive.
