The Story

Don Foote Contracting is a Contractor company based in Massachusetts, specializing in custom cabinetry, carpentry and home renovations. Their goal for this website design project was to create a sophisticated space for prospective customers to reach out for more information about customizing and renovating their homes. It was important for Don Foote Contracting to have a clean design that was easy to follow, informative and told the story of their business.

The Challenge

Don Foote Contracting has a plethora of pictures, projects, awards and testimonials. We wanted to display enough of this information to engage with visitors, build their trust and potential clients, and leave them intrigued enough to want to learn more. Our challenge was to display the information cohesively and create a space where website visitors would come and feel right at home. We needed to maintain a comfortable balance of white space and information so as to not overwhelm visitors. We also wanted to be sure to include a link to Don Foote Contracting’s houzz profile so that visitors had the option to contact the business directly there.

As web designers, our job is multifold, and displaying content is just one aspect. We have to figure out a way to convey branding and message while offering a user-friendly experience and manage to disseminate all needed information at the right time.

Home Renovations Website Design

We went with a classic, sophisticated website design, using dark blue and gold as the primary accent colors. Next, we chose to use an animated hero image that displays three beautiful home renovation spaces. Upon scrolling, visitors will find a brief mission statement, the services Don Foote Contracting offers, an image gallery, and the process of their home remodeling service. The new site features dynamic animation, interactivity, and easy-to-follow navigation.
